"If you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original." Ken Robinson
Shot on my Canon 400D on the 28th of sept 2023.
If only I could show that quote to my college tutors of my final year. I hold a great distaste for the trio. I've been in three camera related courses across 4 years, 2018- 2022's academic years. I've also been done with education for a year, and yet I have nothing to show for this year by myself, why is that? Oh yeah...
It's hard to maintain a love for your hobby in a toxic environment, next to no one from that course bothers with cameras anymore, what's the point when nothings good enough? The day-by-day belittling from some shiny topped bridge troll was all too much for us by the end of the year. Something that started as a two year course with close to 30 students, ended up with less than 10 staying for the 2nd year, that speaks more volumes than a boom box I'll tell you that much.
Unpleasantries of the lore aside, here's a showcase of a shoot I had earlier today on my personal Canon 400D. Yes that's right! This is the first post on here with content from my own digital camera of my own accord.
Neither my phone, a college camera nor a college brief had anything to do with this shoot! I've recently gotten back into Photography now, I'd bought this 400D last Christmas but let it collect dust as it was faulty and hadn't the money to invest elsewhere. However it would appear the camera is working fine now, minus the fact it won't let me view it's gallery, so the preview after I take a photo is all I get until I go home and unload it all to my pc and phone. Although that in itself leads to a nice shoot where I'm living more in the moment.
This was also my first full manual or 'M Mode' shoot, as I wanted to shoot in raw this meant I'd have to branch out my comfort zone a bit. I'm glad I did.
I had a bit of fun with this image, completely changing the colour of the image rather than just a small touch. Why not? There's no real rules in art after all, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
It's time to close the door on this chapter, I'm excited to elevate my camera game furthermore I hope you'll stay along for the ride!
